epilogue

  • 15 Feb, 2025

It had been more than one year since Daksh and Sana left town. Sana wouldn’t say that everything in their life was sunshine and butterflies (though Daksh would disagree) but it was just the kind of life she wanted to live. The ability to just up and move out of a town if she got bored of it one morning and root herself to a person instead of a place so that she’d never feel not at home. It was a good life and she had no complaints. Also, the idea of people saying ‘Circus is coming to town’ reminded her of the nostalgic times when she used to be taken to the circus from the orphanage as a part of some checkbox criteria to avail funds. Reigniting a tiny fragment of the past in people gave her some extra happiness in what she did.

    The Anti-Halo Effect

Pallavi wouldn't have cared for the Best Outgoing Student Award if not for her plan to escape from what she considers an awful fate. Winning the award is her ticket out of this country. She needs it. Turns out, Atharva Krishnan, her stupidly attractive and privileged classmate, is aiming for the same award for reasons unknown. Sometimes, she wonders if he is only after it so he could piss her off. He has that quality to him. Atharva and Pallavi instantly become sworn rivals, grappling for a win over the other so it can fetch them the coveted prize at the end of their course. 'Who will win the award?' would've been the right question to ask if not for the mischievous heart causing havoc in what should've been an exclusive battle of wits. Now, the right question is, 'Who will win the other's heart first?'

Vijay and Nila have only one thing in common - they take the same bus at the same time everyday. What if this mere commonality steers their life into a whirlpool of uninvited feelings, wholesome conversations and unexpected connections, taking them on a ride they don't recall buying tickets for?
