BONUS #1: The Loser and the Scoundrel

  • 22 Nov, 2024

Krish wasn’t happy with how his plans for the day were unravelling. It must have been rotten luck following him like it was the love of his life or it must be his horrible choice of friends. All he’d done was ask Vijay if he wanted to accompany him to the book fair. Now, somehow, he was walking in the company of five noisy people, amongst who were two I-can’t-keep-my-hands-off-you couples and one demon witch. He had clung to a little hope when he heard that Maya, a fellow book nerd, was joining them, but she seemed to have switched sides from indulging in overly sweet romance books to overly sweet romance, now that she had a boyfriend hanging off her arm.

Krish had never imagined he’d feel this terrible walking in a giant hall filled with books. It was the saddest thing in his life.

    The Anti-Halo Effect

Pallavi wouldn't have cared for the Best Outgoing Student Award if not for her plan to escape from what she considers an awful fate. Winning the award is her ticket out of this country. She needs it. Turns out, Atharva Krishnan, her stupidly attractive and privileged classmate, is aiming for the same award for reasons unknown. Sometimes, she wonders if he is only after it so he could piss her off. He has that quality to him. Atharva and Pallavi instantly become sworn rivals, grappling for a win over the other so it can fetch them the coveted prize at the end of their course. 'Who will win the award?' would've been the right question to ask if not for the mischievous heart causing havoc in what should've been an exclusive battle of wits. Now, the right question is, 'Who will win the other's heart first?'

Vijay and Nila have only one thing in common - they take the same bus at the same time everyday. What if this mere commonality steers their life into a whirlpool of uninvited feelings, wholesome conversations and unexpected connections, taking them on a ride they don't recall buying tickets for?
