It was one of those rare days without a stranger’s picture and details sent to Dax, sentencing them to death by his hands. He was glad for it but the lack of something to do made him feel unsettled.
He’d woken up late, made quick lunch and spoke to his sister for a while but she got called in for work in the middle of the call. He didn’t have anyone else to call family. Nor did he know anyone else in this town except for the few friends he’d made in Raju Anna’s dirty community. Those friends shared the same fate as him ---- their souls tainted in the name of loyalty in exchange for Raju anna’s life-changing favour. Most of them put Raju anna on a pedestal, ready to give him their lives for the help he’s done for them which was exactly what he expected to accomplish. Undying loyalty and gratitude, which he considered to be better than money to drive people to take lives. Only three or four in this army of his saw his kindness for what it was. A shackling debt to be repaid.
